Whine

January 5, 2022
Here we go again!
To glom or not to glom, that is the question.
Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of books that don’t grab you
Or to glom parts of an author’s library

Who knew reading could be so hard?
Yes, my Petunia’s I have been reading, or should I say, trying to read. I am not calling the following books DNF, because honestly, I didn’t get that far in them. There is a tear traveling down my face because these books just didn’t talk to me. Some were overcrowded with past characters, some had slang which threw me out of the story, some had plots which made no sense, and some had clunky writing.

I decided to put them aside, maybe for another time, maybe not. Until the next batch of new books catch my eye, I shall be filling in the empty space with one of Lorraine Heath’s many series, Scoundrels of St. James. The books are: In Bed with the Devil, 2008, Between the Devil and Desire, 2008, Surrender to the Devil, 2009, Midnight Pleasures with a Scoundrel, 2009, and The Last Wicked Scoundrel, 2014. The dates on these books kind of scare me because they indicate some fast writing. But I must forge ahead.

Sigh list. The books I put aside.
